Carmel Convent established on 08th April 1991 and school situated on the outskirts of Nahan and is a Co-educational English Medium School affiliated to CISCE, New Delhi. It is managed by the Congregation of the Teresian Carmelite Sisters of Lisieux Province of Jhansi. The Sisters residing at Carmel Convent Nahan are responsible for its functioning. It was and is getting stronger by the day due to the blessings from the Almighty. Carmel with conscious and constant attempts is shaping the future of students to be competent persons.
More than 1300 students from all the religions Hindus, Muslims, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis and Christians are enrolled in this institution and cocooned by the 33 experienced teachers. It imparts education up to 10th level. The objective of Carmelites is not merely learning but to share skills, work for change, preferring pupil’s interest to a successful way. The Carmelite Sisters consider it as a apart of their sacred duty to impart knowledge and to mould the character of those entrusted to their care. With this objective, they aim at an integral education of students: Intellectual, Social, Moral and Physical. The intellectual education is sought to be given by the way of a course that is suited to the mental development of the student. The social education is imparted by way of making the student realize that he is a member of the society. The student, therefore, is taught to cultivate in himself/herself a spirit of teamwork and a healthy competition. A spirit of service and dedication of duty is also aimed at. Above all, the student is gradually trained to be a responsible citizen.
The motto of the institution is to build character, inculcate values and build confidence that will enhance the learning capacity. It tries to make the student innovative, creative and competitive to face the future with courage. Education reminds the students that no one in this world is either born as our friend, nor as enemy. Carmelites are making their presence felt in all the professions like banking, medical, hospitality, allied services, defence and many more. Inside the uniforms, lies beautiful children who grew up as toddlers in Carmel Garden for the past 32 years. “They are for the heights” and they have proved it.
Carmel is not making its mark only in the field of education but also in the various other fields. Many of the students have participated in various sports events at state and national level and brought laurels. Students have also participated in Scouts and Guides Camps, Science Camps at the National as well as state level. The aim of Carmel has always been Overall development of Child.
