  • Social Back ground When we started the convent this area was a remote from the town and was an undeveloped area. Now it is developing and become a small town. The local people are very poor and illiterate Most of them are labourers and belonging to Hindu religion. Majority of them are from Scheduled Caste and some are from Yadav community Their customs and cultures are according to their religion
  • The felt need was to have a Regional House in Jhansi. 3 Years we stayed at St Jude s convent Jhansi, then Bishop of Jhansi asked us to have a separate Regional house at Jhansi somewhere else.
  • In 1989 we purchased two acres of land from a man in Hasari and 3 acres of land from Government as a lease for 99 years have paid the lease charge for 99 years. Social Work. Lease charge was Rs 25/- per year We Lease land had given for the purpose of
  • This land was a small hill fall of rocks. And one side there is Harijan Colony, and Indira colony There is a Junior high school at the left side of our land and in front of our convent there is a power house and police sub station (chowki). There is an approach road from the main road.
  • Before completing the Regional house, we started to stay on 15thMay 1991 with 2 living rooms and a small room for chapel and a kitchen.
  • St. Little Flower (St. Therese of Lisieux) is the Patroness of the Convent
  • Sr. Shantal (Regional Superior), Sr. Rosebell, Sr. Cecil and Sr. Carola were the Pioneers of the convent. Their activities and apostolates were Education of the locality, care for the sick and house visiting.
  • There are 45 Catholic families and 250 catholic in the parish at present
  • Order of Previous Superiors: Sr. Shantal (Regional Superior) Sr. Mary Easy, Sr. Burnis, Sr. Audry, Sr. Elaine, Sr.Ann Molly, Sr. Archana, Sr. Emil, Sr. Anntherese, Sr. Nirmal.
  • Major events since the establishment of the Convent
    • Blessing of the Regional/Provincial House took place on 24th August 1991.
    • Dispensary started on Sept. 1991.
    • Starting of the Hindi Medium school on July 1992.
    • Establishment of the Province Jan, 1994.
    • The 1st Provincial chapter of Lisieux Province was held on 11.6.1994 to 14.6.1994 Sr. Archana was elected a the Provincial Superior.
    • The centenary celebration of St. Little Flower, the Patroness of the Province on 1.10.1997

  • Involvement of the Sisters in Parochial activities are Teaching of Catechism, Choir, Decoration, Parish Council, B.C.C. Mission team of the Parish etc.
  • C.J. (Congregation of Jesus) Sisters are in our Parish.

We are running a Hindi Medium High School for the education of the Poor chilldren of the locality. It is recognized by Government of U.P. Board. At present 331 children are studying in our Hindi Medium school We also have an English Medium school Parallel to Hindi Medium classes up to XII. CBSC Board. But children are few in number only 350.
